@jayraemama, No it’s not. And I’m glad because I used to work in the pool/spa biz and you’d be horrified at what all gets trapped in the lines behind the jets. Even cleaning with bleach doesn’t work. I had a customer once who got MRSA staph INSIDE HER VAGINA from a jetted tub and was hospitalized for it. Basically hot water is fuel for the bacteria and crap that comes off our bodies. 🤮
@jayraemama, ok yes the stuff shooting out is crap leftover from previous owners skin. Lol. I’m about to send you product info and instructions on how to get it all out and maintain it so it doesn’t happen again. I used to be a chemical rep for this company. You can purchase it at most pool stores
@jayraemama, okay so fill your tub with water above the jets and follow instructions on the label. If you notice you’re still getting a lot of that blackish colored stuff at the end of the cycle, drain your tub, refill, and repeat this process. Sometimes you have to do it multiple times depending on how bad the buildup is. Once you get the crud out, you can add the chemical on a maintenance schedule to prevent it happening again. Also this chemical is naturally fermented enzymes so it’s totally safe for your skin. Just FYI.
@jayraemama, you are very welcome. I was a chemical rep for the company that makes it (Natural Chemistry) and learned so much from them. Also, check online prices with the pool store prices. Some retail stores are more expensive. If you have a pinch a penny store near you check there too.
@jayraemama, here’s the manufacturer instructions but as I said, you might have to drain, clean tub, refill with water/chemical and repeat the process. You’ll know when the jets are clean because you won’t see flakes coming out anymore.
