Anyone else suffering from Pica? It happens to me every single pregnancy. It’s always the same thing, something earthy like dirt, or I want chalk or baby powder. Out of my five pregnancies I’ve only had low iron once which was two pregnancies ago. The urge is really bad though. I haven’t given in to eating any of these items but I enjoy the smell of the baby powder a little too much when I change my son’s diaper. I’m going to bring it up to my doctor next week.

I have pica. Mine is corn starch, basically baby powder without the smell. I figured since we consume it it would be OK but my midwife told me no lol. I am anemic and we've fixed it but I still have to dip my finger in the jar. It's horrible and I can't stop

Try water or other things with extra electrolytes because iron is one of many minerals that can be off. Just learned this last week in one of my nursing classes last week. Maybe not but worth a shot right? 100% still bring it up and ask doc though.

@serrano_girl, I actually thought about doing that but I was like, “No I’m not going to do it, lol!”
