I don’t think it’s weird, I think you should ask again and mention that you will like to take her out and see what her response is

I have two car seats always available for each child. Right now my husband's mom is watching our boys so she has the second set. I have the first set in my car. But we have always provided a set for whomever is watching because life happens and sometimes you want to or need to go places.

I don’t think it’s weird at all. I would just tell the mom you would like to be able to take them out once in a while. Every time I have ever watched someone else’s kids, I always had their car seat.

@sadie.w, oh I know! My SO has done the same thing and I wasn’t able to get it out lol I used to babysit for her sister who is married to my cousin and then I started babysitting for her so she has known me for years now maybe I was just putting too much thought into the whole thing 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

@fakoffyeh, yeah that’s another thing that makes me wish I had her car seat is I never know what could possibly happen and me need it for whatever reason

@jessig2006, I have 2 for my daughter as well. One is in my SO’s truck cause that’s the main vehicle we’re in and the other is in my moms because that’s about the only other vehicle we’re in most of the time lol and I agree anytime SO’s mom has kept her we’ve always left the car seat just Incase even though she says she doesn’t need it

@theycallmemommy, I used to babysit for her sister and when she dropped her little girl off every morning she would bring the car seat in just Incase I needed it or we wanted out of the house or whatever and even though I never used it I loved the fact that it was always here if I needed/wanted to use it

I think she should bring you a travel one in case of emergencies. I know if someone watched my daughter that’s what I would do because it took me wayyy too long to install her seat to take it out everyday lol like I was literally sweating 😓😂

Not at all! I always expect to be left a car seat, especially for emergencies. It’s an actual expectation of mine. If you don’t leave it I don’t usually have the kiddo I’m babysitting stay unless I have an extra myself or mom gives me one.

@taylorsmommy1017, she wasn’t asking the mom to take the car. The car seat. She said the mom never leaves the car seat for her cause it’s strapped in too tight. @caseyann19, personally I would make it a requirement she do leave the car seat with you. Good luck mama!

@taylorsmommy1017, it’s totally fine! I’m not sure. That’s the feeling I got when I asked but I could’ve just been reading into it too much or something. She knows she’s 100% safe with me and I don’t leave the house often so it’s not like I’d be taking her out everyday of the week. I also never go anywhere alone with kids because I’m terrified of someone trying to kidnap them or something like that so I’m always either with my mom or my best friend. She’s met both of them. I just wanna be able to take the girls out to like the pumpkin patch, the library, museum stuff like that so we’re not just stuck in the house for 5 days straight lol

@caseyann19, I make it one because mainly emergency reasons. But you still need to be able to get out sometimes during the week! I hope you guys work it out. No problem love 💕

I don’t think it’s weird to ask but I would also hate to have to take out and reinstall a car seat every time I took my kid somewhere.

My mil watches my daughter a few days a week and we provided her with a seat of her own. Our sitter (who keeps her the other days) does not have a seat, never has, and has never asked for one. I’m actually uncomfortable with other people driving my kid around.

@d-lane-knee11, I agree but I wouldn’t really need it everyday I’d only need it if I had an appointment to go to that couldn’t be scheduled later in the evening after she picked her up or if there was something I’d like to take the girls to like the pumpkin patch that’s gonna open soon or something like that. I’m uncomfortable with other people driving my daughter around too but I also hate having to keep two toddlers cooped up in the house for 9 hours 5 days a week 😔 I want them to be able to see and do things and have fun before it gets to cold out
