Is it true that once you hit 3cm you can dilate pretty fast? I was recently told this and at my last appointment I was 3cm and 75% effaced. Dunno is she was trying to mess with me or just spike my anxiety. Either way I’m getting pretty nervous about this coming week considering the dr said she predicted another 36 weeker.

Out of the other 8 I've had I was 3cm up until I was induced at 39wks

I would say once your at 6cm it can go pretty fast, but you can be 3cm for weeks before you go into labor. It really depends on your body.

@blessed2018w9, I already know I’m not gonna make it long after I take my last shot which is another reason I asked this lol. I take my last shot next Thursday if I can make it that far.

@sunnydays.22, I know that all to well last pregnancy I was a 6/7 at my 36 week checkup so they didn’t let me go home that day. Another reason I’m a bit worried but I do have one shot left so maybe I’ll atleast make it to 37

I don’t think so. Most ladies I know that were dilated to a 3 were that way for several weeks.

Labor was fast though once I was induced, 6 hours start to finish.

@mamabear0415, I’ve never had to be induced, my cervix is so weak once the medicine from my shots wear out my system labor isn’t too far behind

I was 3 cm at my last appt and the day before my 39 week appt I had him. When I went to the hospital I was 4 cm and then within an hour I was at 8 cm.

When I was pregnant with my son I was still a 0 then that Sunday night going into Monday I was having contractions when I got to the hospital I was 3cm then jump to 6 that fast and had my son round 4ish that Monday

Everyone is different. I was 2cm for about a week. Started having contraction and went to er was 6cm. Then every hour I was dilating. So if baby is ready you can have him tonight or tomorrow or another week or two from now.
