Either is great. I have the first one (almost identical) BUT just remember, baby can’t sleep overnight in the bassinet topper. You can remove the topper and changer and just lay baby on the mattress pad, it’s okay in the high position. If baby sleeps in the second, you still need to remove the bassinet portion and lay baby on the mattress part :). Both have the mattress that can raise up to make it easier until baby can sit up.

We never used the bassinet part of our pack and play so we just threw that part away. I don't think there's a wrong option though. Depends on what you'll be using it for!

I love the first one! I have the second one, either will work I just like the fact the first one had a music player with it and had the bassinet

@amysbabies, making sure I understand what you’re saying, the little bassinet part isn’t good for them to sleep in so it’s better to buy the one that’s open with the changer on top?! Also if I buy the one that’s open with the mattress can I leave the charger part on?!

@fishinamanda, it’s not safe for them to sleep unsupervised on the little top bassinet- if you are in the room and they are napping it’s okay- I learned this when reading the instructions—- it makes sense though when you think about it (both the slight incline and the depth isn’t too deep). Every pack and play the bottom mattress adjusts to a higher “bassinet” height, and it spreads the entire pack and play. We did this with my last newborn and it worked well. It looks like this. The pictures you have just don’t show that option, but it’s there :) look up the models and look at other pictures. You would still want to remove the changer because baby could roll under it and it would not be safe. It should be easy to remove though.
