I need opinions!
So I have a home daycare and plan to take two weeks off when I have the baby (mostly just before and after school kids, only 2 stay all day).
Would you take two weeks starting on your due date so if you go over due, you’d still have a week?
I want to give the family ample notice so there’s no confusion and they can plan accordingly. I’m just struggling when to pick these days so I can actually have some time.
What would you do? I’d like both points of view - a working parent that needs daycare, and then being the worker.
Thanks! :)
It’s a tough call! Id leave yourself room to go overdue OR speak to your doctor that if the day of your date you’ve not gone speak about a possible induction? Explain your pickle and see what they think? If your due they shouldn’t mind.
@beakymcspence, that’s where I’m stuck. I only want two weeks, and I have places for the kids to go for those two weeks.
I’m just finding it hard to pick which days. Like do I take 2 weeks from my due date? But then if I go over due the full ten days (I did with my other pregnancies) I’ll only get less then a full week. Lol it’s hard.
Well I think this is a great question! We have a nanny now (which is basically a nurse for our special needs little man) but before her our older kids did go to daycare.
When our daycare provider was ill or needed time off she had a replacement, and she was organized by the provider herself.
If I were you I’d want the most time with baby so this is tricky if you go over due.
@beakymcspence, that’s a good point, thank you.
I may consider an extra week then. My husband will be off to help but I just looked at the school schedule and there’s a whole week off school starting the day my two weeks would end LOL. No thanks to having a new baby, healing crotch and 5 kids running about the houSe that aren’t mine 🤗
