Mine looked like this when it rained here and my roof blew off in a nasty storm. It eventually caved in, we’re renting right now and their fixing soon. I hope nothing gets damaged and you get fixed! Stay safe🙏

I cant speak for all landlords, but I am a building superintendent and when water damage like this happens we are responsible to fix it immediately. Firstly, repair the source of the leak so more damage does not occur. We would take down the damaged part of the wall too so no one is injured if it falls. A job like this for one person should not take more than a week, most of that time spent on drywall repair. If your landlord stalls most states you can withhold rent.
