Probably a cray question to ask, but when did y’all start to wash your newborns clothes and putting them away? Like I’ve been getting clothes since I found out what I was having but I haven’t taken off tags yet or washed anything. I’m 30 weeks. It’s crazy because with my other 3 kids I didn’t really wash a lot of their stuff at first (got lazy) ALSO what laundry detergent did you use if you didn’t use Dreft? Because i saw Pyrex for Baby an didn’t know if anyone tried it??
@quanandmelosmommyyy, No you just used the term cultural differences in the wrong context lol 🙄
@beakymcspence, never did I say washing new babies clothes was a chore . Like I said don’t tell me what I meant .
@penelope127, same i was in Walmart smelling dreft and Pyrex just now like omg i can’t wait to go wash 😂😂
@quanandmelosmommyyy, And there you have it lol you just told me not to tell you what you meant...yet your sitting her claiming our culture thinks we’re right and your wrong and that makes you bad mothers? That makes you a hypocrite...you don’t want people telling you what you meant yet your sitting here telling us what we mean? No that’s not a cultural difference that’s an ignorant hypocrite. Next time you want to pull the culture card at least make sure your using it properly 🤦♀️
Clothes come from warehouses and can easily be contaminated with not only chemicals but also bugs and rodent feces. Washing them is not a "chore." It's necessary.
@beakymcspence, my reference about the cultural difference was y’all swear y’all are also right and just because we don’t do stuff y’all way it makes us bad mothers
@beakymcspence, no I didn’t . I was stating in general . Please don’t tell me what I meant and like I said I wasn’t even talking to you 🤷🏽♀️.
@quanandmelosmommyyy, Actually you pulled the cultural difference card in defence of someone else’s comment over chores lol In reality that’s absolutely absurd. Every culture has “chores” therefor that is completely irrelevant 🙄
@beakymcspence, nobody said chores are unnecessary. But hey if I can avoid doing a chore I will ,,,you turn everything around !!
@beakymcspence, I was saying arguing with you is pointless . I was saying in general that it is always going to be a big cultural difference . Never did I say it was an unnecessary chore or did I agree . So don’t put words in my mouth . I just said I don’t do it and never had a problem with my sons skin .
@leeoshee, So chores in your culture are unnecessary then that’s what your saying? Your pulling the cultural differences card and legitimately every culture has “chores”.
@beakymcspence, it is a cultural difference , we two different cultures who believe in two different things raised two different ways in prob two very different year ,,,,,,, and on the other hand it’s a chore ,, washing clothes is a chore
@quanandmelosmommyyy, No no you pulled the “cultural differences” card lol so how is that she admitted to it being an unnecessary chore a cultural difference? I’m real curious because that’s a pretty ridiculous excuse to defend that. If your going to throw down that this is a cultural difference at least back it up.
@beakymcspence, I never said it was an unnecessary chore . Those were her words and I never agreed . All I said was I never washed my baby new clothes .
@quanandmelosmommyyy, How is admitting washing your babies clothing is an unnecessary chore a cultural difference 😂
Ladies. Wow I didn’t read everything, but when I was younger I worked in a department store with a warehouse in the back. There was often rat poo 💩 on the clothes waiting to be brought out. No washing machine, so it was just kind of shook off. I wash everything, unless it’s an emergency purchase. I just toss it in the laundry hamper and wash with the next load- super simple! To each their own BUT this is something no one told me happened to new clothes and I never thought about!
Okay, so.... i didn’t mean to start a big debate about it lol i barely washed my other three kids clothes before they first wore them but was asking when would you? I work, going back to school, have a husband an three other kids (4,2,1) so my schedule is pretty full and i won’t be going on leave until i have her bc that’s when they’ll start to pay me 🙄.. but I’m glad to see I’m not alone with not washing clothes before wearing them from before so i don’t feel as bad lol
@leeoshee, it’s also a lot of cultural differences . So just stop responding to her .
@quanandmelosmommyyy, true good thing I ain’t gotta deal with her in regular life
@leeoshee, but with some of these women on this app it’s no point in going back and forth with them . They already have an opinion of you .
, @quanandmelosmommyyy, oh no argument , that female just needs to realize every body had there own way of doing things , it don’t make them a bad mother if they don’t wash clothes
@leeoshee, yeah but I’m talking about any store In general 😐 like people that go to forever 21 and try on a pair of jeans and didn’t even wash their vagina before they went shopping ,, that smell and dirtyness seeps through their underwear and onto those jeans .. that’s what I’m saying .. it might not smell wen u buy them bkz so many people have gone through them before it got to u .. also people that have sweaty armpits all the time and then try things on ..
@beakymcspence, I must be realllly bored because I wash literally everything that's machine washable in free and clear detergent. Bored and proud of it! 😊
@marielovely, I just said I’ll wash underwear or a bathing or something that came from a second hand store !
Well maybe rather then sitting here you should work on it lol? Because you’ve commented just as much as anyone else lol which makes you dear a hypocrite 🙂
@leeoshee, lol that’s gross u know how many people try on those clothes before u buy them? People possibly with stds , yeast Infections, just bad hygiene in general .!
@beakymcspence, if you want to sit here and discuss how you use hypoallergenic detergent and cloth diapers I would think you are very bored . When English is your third language it ain’t gonna be perfect .
@aengs2, Well the one genius mother of the year on here first argued about washing “everything” but now says only bored people do that. It’s unclear at this point lol
@beakymcspence, The funniest thing about this whole "debate" is that the original poster clearly wants to wash all the clothes - she's just asking for suggestions on when and which detergent to use. So I'm confused. 🤷🏼♀️
@leeoshee, Lord you think people who care about hygiene are bored? I guess only the bored ones learned proper grammar also..
@quanandmelosmommyyy, that what’s I’m saying !! Unless it was brought st a second hand store is the only time I’ll wash it , and maybe underwear or a bathing suit . Other then that right on my body it goes
@beakymcspence, you darn right , far I’m concern my son had never had an “ rash causing irritant “ ever, after three months his clothes were washed in tide .
@leeoshee, I just asked my mom if I should wash my new baby stuff . She said I wanted to wash it she would do it . My first son was premie and he didn’t have any problems . Adults don’t wash their new clothes either .
@leeoshee, Yes protecting your child from possibly rash causing irritants is a burden to you and a chore to do for no reason. Wow classy. That sounds like a parent of the year nomination coming your way 🎉
@quanandmelosmommyyy, exactly I just see it as another chore to do for really no reason lol
@leeoshee, My first son was premie and I didn’t wash his clothes until after I wore it either .
@leeoshee, Well if you can afford infant laundry soap then it’s usually always hypoallergenic 🙄
@beakymcspence, well everybody don’t use hypoallergenic detergent like you
@beakymcspence, well congrats for you . The point is everybody has there own way of doing stuff .
@leeoshee, Many people including myself use washable diapers made of cloth lol...Anyways your contradicting yourself and it’s comical but a waste of time for anyone who actually understand the point of this discussion.
@beakymcspence, who’s to say a person won’t wash baby clothes in a detergent and they are allergic to it ?
@beakymcspence, as I said my opinion. Pampers are made with chemicals we don’t wash pampers no matter if they were seal differently they still have chemicals right or wrong? Clothes to also made with chemicals right or wrong so if you going to wash one wash all. Clearly you going to wash clothes after you wear them I think that’s kind of obvious
I love the Purex baby- I still use it for my toddler and for this baby- so much cheaper than the other brand. I love the smell too and it didn’t irritate her skin. I’ve been washing as I get them, so my friend gave me a bunch of boy clothes and I washed them with some unisex ones from my daughter. I’ve also thrown some random outfits in with my daughters wash. My baby shower is next weekend, so I’ll do a load then and I’m sure one more before baby is born. It’s nice to have it all ready. I don’t mind doing additional loads, and prefer it now than to doing it the last few weeks when nothing is certain.
@leeoshee, Then why were you commenting “if you don’t wash pampers and wipes why was clothes” you clearly don’t believe in washing anything so now your contradicting yourself lol
@leeoshee, No the cover to the car seat covers the SEAT it’s what touches them it’s that fabric that covers the shell of the seat. Your referring to the canopy 🙄
@beakymcspence, exactly that’s my point . My whole thing is if you gonna wash clothes wash everything , everything has chemicals from couches , baby rocking chairs .
I use all free and clear and washed 0-3 & 3-6 month clothes when I was about 32 weeks for both my babies. I waited to wash all the other sizes. I only had like 3 newborn size outfits for each so I had those washed up too just in case.
@beakymcspence, theres a difference , car seat cover covers the car seat after babies inside the car like a canopy the car seat cushion is the part that sits under them .
@leeoshee, Nowhere does anything I said imply that I felt you were saying I was wrong. You stated your opinion we are stating ours. That’s how this type of discussion works lol
@beakymcspence, I never said you was wrong I’m simply stating my opinion 🤷🏾♀️
@leeoshee, What’s your point I wash my clothes after I buy them and why expose them to more chemicals then they already will be? 🤷♀️
@spookylyn, hey I’m not knocking nobody , everything is made with chemicals baby gonna be exposed to it no matter what , we buy ourself clothes and 9/10 times we gonna our our kids on our clothes .
We use All Free and Clear. I washed the 0-3 clothes, and blankets, at around 36 weeks after we got the dresser, but left most of the newborn size clothes unwashed with the tags on. Which was good because he was a big baby and we exchanged most of his newborn stuff. I wanted to wait until the dresser was up because I didn't want to leave the clean clothes out to get dusty or smelly (cooking smells, paint smells, etc.)
@leeoshee, I washed my child’s car seat cover before use. You don’t know who picked up that outfit in the store before you bought it? Diapers and wipes come sealed completely different 🙄
@penelope127, yeah I’m not having a baby shower which is why i was trying to figure it out when to do it
I washed everything directly after my babyshower so like 37 weeks. I used dreft.
And what ever they gonna sleep in , and the jacket they gonna wore if born in cold months
I just see it as , if you don’t wash pampers and wipes why wash clothes lol 😂 🤷🏾♀️
Its important to wash new clothes, to make sure all possible toxins and allergens are off of the clothes. Any free and clear detergent would be fine. I bought some pyrex baby detergent to wash some things for my sister's baby.
I washed everything at 38 weeks n finally finished some more of her stuff today tht I just bought.. I only washed sized newborn to 3-6 months clothes everything above that I will wash later wen she can fit it and I used dreft !
I washed all of her clothes at 35 weeks. I just use any free and clear detergent.
I’d wash a couple things in different sizes , not telling how big or
Small baby will be . I washed around 34 weeks . I use anything free
And clear . Tide , all , purex . It’s your preference. Maybe go
To the store and find one you like ?
