Hey ladies what are your thoughts on teaching children not to lie I’ve tried just about everything and I feel like it’s just getting more frequent and he’s even starting to lie about things there’s no reason to lie about. Any suggestions ?

@justgotaname, tell him if he don’t brush his teeth will rot and fall out and show him pictures of rotten teeth lol that’s what I would do but my son is lying about homework 😑 I have to literally say I’m going to call his classmates mother whose out neighbor and then he says ok ok I do have homework I’m like dude not again im not doing this with you again this year

@tyrellp, is that working for her because I’ve done that with my son and he just catches an attitude like I’m wrong for punishing his lying ass lol

She is usually good for a while after that she definetly doesnt like it lol no kid likes to be punished. Thats our go to punishment corner and page of lines she doesnt care if we take things away but taking up her time when she could be doing what she wants really bothers her

Read him the boy who cried wolf and explain if he keeps getting caught lying then people will find it hard to believe him when it’s something serious or when he’s really telling the truth.

Honest opinion.... when I run out of options I tell them that they can do whatever they want and hide or lie to me but not GOD. And it always works.... when it doubt, I tell them the Bible says this and that. Even if it doesn’t... but it should... it always works. One time I told my son we were going to Disney land. I let him get excited then I said I was lying. So he could feel it... and told him see... lying is bad. Lol

No! Don’t give up, it’s our job to shape them into the adults they will be. Try the Disney idea. A taste of his own medicine. My daughter lies about dumb stuff and I tell her I get more mad when u lie. So I tell her just tell me the truth. But that also means when they do tell u the truth... u can’t get mad... ya know
