It depends on your body, dilation start/ dilation progress and what methods they use, etc & etc - but for me they inserted Cervidil night before to soften cervix... Next day at about 7 started Pitocin, about 10 ish dr broke water... I had baby about 7pm with 3 pushes
*Pushing period was shorter second time around, but not necessarily the labor period for me... Maybe about the same at long 12 hr shift lol.
@mrs.hibben my first was born at 39 weeks and my second was born at 36 weeks. I think my first came quicker because I was already dilated, with my second I was fully closed at the start With my first the epidural worked so the pain was non existent lol I only pushed for 20 min. With my second the epidural was put in wrong and I felt every pain but only pushed for 5 min.
Well first of all, it’s pretty common they bump your date because the floor is full- Ours was scheduled 10/28, they didn’t call us till late on 10/30. I got there at about 11pm, was hooked up by midnight and had baby not long before 11am. So I guess 10-11 hours? I slept through most of it though- at the beginning they were just softening my cervix and didn’t start the drugs until the morning.
Everyone is different and each pregnancy is different. But my first I was induced and it was about 6 hours after and with my second I was induced and it took about 12 almost 13
