Maggie saw her pedi yesterday. As I suspected she’s tongue tied and (upper) lip tied. Getting an ENT referral for the tongue tie. He doesn’t want to mess with the lip tie with those top two teeth coming in. She’s such a trooper. We had NO issues with BF. I remember hearing the clicking sound when she was a newborn but she quickly adapted. I’m surprised the lactation consultants didn’t point it out at the hospital. She was born jaundice so we made several trips back to the hospital for heel sticks and each time I met with the LC. Regardless we are going to have it fixed now. I know that stretching will be very important after the procedure including one stretch in the middle of the night. (She’ll just LOVE me waking her up for that lol) I hope the pain isn’t too bad for her.

My son had both also. We had the tongue tie corrected when he was teeny weeny. Last night he face planted into the corner of the coffee table and took care of his lip tie 🤦🏼♀️ I was having a panic attack....

My 5yr old had her tongue clipped when she was 3wks new...but to this day she dosen't really speak all that clearly and not sure why..but she nursed immediately afterwards

No no no don’t go to ent go to a dentist! They do a laser and it’s much more effective then being cut and the chances of growing back with a ent doing it is higher.

Kyle has a partial tongue tie. His pediatrician said if he is eating fine don’t mess with it because of him being older

@duckduckgoose, idk if laser is covered by Medicaid though. I’ll have to check into it

It isn’t covered with Medicaid.. I don’t even think it’s covered through regular insurance

@duckduckgoose, that’s probably why her pedi referred us to an ENT then. But I’m still going to look into the cost of laser because my sis did it with her youngest.

Usually it’s around 500 I believe. It’s worth it to me because the chances of it growing back is slim to none
