I use a hand pump when I feel this way. Seems to work better than the electric pump at emptying my breast.

@mummaof2 my baby has problems latching. She spilt and cracked my nipples in less than her first 24 hours of life lol

@mummaof2 Yes, two different kinds 😫 she hated them.

I have to kind of massage my breast while I pump to get the knots out.

Massage your breasts before and after pumping. I used to do it while pumping as well. It does eventually regulate. Sometimes if it gets really bad you can use a vibrating toothbrush while pumping as well.

@mrschanandlerbong95 I've tried that, it works on some of the knots and on others it's too painful. Those are the ones I'm afraid of.

@laniejay Yeah the lactation consultant I saw said she is tongue tied. Her pediatrician showed me that she's not. So now I don't know what to blame her bad latch on lol.

I guess I'll just keep on massaging.

The vibration of the toothbrush works the knots out? I'll have to go buy one if I get desperate.

@gabbyhum23, most peds are not trained in ties- I’d trust the LC. Make an appt with an ENT.

See if you can find a pediatric dentist that specializes in laser dentistry near you. They are the best to see for tongue ties and way less pain then getting them clipped by an ENT. My son had his lasered at 8 weeks and it was the best thing we did. It saved our breastfeeding journey and I got to breastfeed him for 19 months! Don’t give up trying to put baby to breast though. Keep trying!
