When my oldest turned one my MNL and SNL pushed me in letting her go with them for a day I disagreed with them bc I felt like most of you she is too young for an outing with out a parent, she wouldn't be able to tell me if anything happened or where they went( I should point out they said they would go somewhere and then go somewhere else without telling me) yes I have trust issues, for obvious reasons. My SNL has tried to set up play dates with people I don't know, and not tell me about it. Thanks to Facebook I know, 😠 how can I confront them about this with out it blowing up in my face? They always guilt trip my SO into making me feel like crap. Not caring about my feelings on the matter, I'm the mother shouldn't I have a say on where my kids go and and who they meet?

I would just say straight up no. My daughter won’t be going with MIL on trips ever in my mind, maybe when she is 15— maybe. And I mean 15 years.

Absolutely. I feel this. I think this would bother me too as a mother. If I had to handle the situation I probably wouldn’t allow my kid to go with them anywhere alone. At least until I was able to have their older sibling old enough to recall and tell me exactly where they went or go with them myself until then. If they don’t respect that then I don’t think they have the right judgment or the right at all to take care of my kid without my parental supervision.

Thing is she can tell me, but one time I had to drag it out oh her bc my MNL told her not to tell mommy! What the hell!?

@angelaquintana1011, yeah that’s not okay with me. Stick with your mom instincts. If the kids are changing behavior to avoid feeling conflicted on who to tell, that’s only teaching them deceit and not to trust mom in telling the truth.
