At first I loved the cozy feeling I got in our older home, but since I've had the baby I've been hating it. Just thinking of all the things that will eventually need to be done to get it in a condition I'm happy with. My parents live in a brand new house and I guess picking our first up from there on Friday made me so jealous. Everything was so clean and bright. Our house is clean, but even when it's clean it still doesn't have that bright feeling because it's so old. I forget my parents didn't start off where they are now and I should be grateful just to have a place to live. Also forgot the emotions still run high for a little while after pregnancy haha 😂 I hate this, let me go back to be my emotionless prepregnancy self.

@emily526 I agree about the pregnancy hormones. if it weren't for that we wouldn't be doing the renos because we don't plan on staying in this house either. I just got so tired of every single corner of my house always looking dirty. I never invite friends over and I'm always self conscious about how it looks. we are using the money we are saving by being in this house to save for something really nice so I try to remind myself that. Damn nesting 😂 it'll get better! :)

@leigha.mazur We haven't even started any renovations because I really dont want to stay here. I hate how no matter how much I clean it still doesn't feel "fresh" in the house and what I thought was coziness just feels damp and dim now. I was living with my parents when I had my 1st too, so I got to raise her for over a year in basically my dream house. So I'm really missing that and missing my parents too. It's definitely partially if not completely some after pregnancy emotions running wild.

we are in a similar situation, lucky to have a house and got it at a great price but we've spent all summer renovating. The house used to be a schoolhouse from 1910 before it was moved and converted. Every single project takes an extra week and it still looks old and dated. We started our renos in July and are finally finishing up my daughter's new room so we can move the new baby into her current room. So basically I'm due next month and still have nothing ready for the new baby. 😔 I always look at other people's new homes and feel jealous so you're not alone

It's good that you are seeing clearly. Just keep working towards your goals and try to stay grateful. Everyone feels envy sometimes. You guys will get there.😊
