Outfits for baby, blankets, mittens and socks. Hospital usually gives diapers and stuff after birth. I only had two boxes of newborn diapers and only used half of the second box.

I only packed for myself three gowns, slippers and socks, the hospital gave me panties, pads and stuff

For diapers I would just get 1 giant box of newborn and 3-4 giant boxes of size 1. Don’t go by the weights, I always moved my daughter up a lot earlier because, if you experience a leak- 99% it’s not the diaper and you just need to go up a size. Be careful with any diapers that have a scent. Luvs gave my daughter a rash that looked like a chemical burn and took awhile to heal, but friends I know never had a problem- I’m just glad I didn’t stock up on that brand. Usually the fragrance free ones are pretty good about not causing rashes, but you never know! I recommend to tape the receipts to the boxes. If baby seems sensitive or allergic they should even take the opened box back.

For the hospital bag, the most important thing for me was my toiletry bag- hospital will give you anything you forget, but it’s better just using you own products. Think like you are staying at a hotel. Tank tops and stretchy comfy pants are a must- tank tops are easy when nursing, especially if they have a built in bra liner, you can stick nursing pads in. Then a comfy sweater that zips. Socks are important too! Then a few outfits for newborn, though really not needed. Phone charger!!! Lanolin, but I had a really hard time and they gave me lanolin, a nipple shield, a medelA hand pump, and a medela kit for their hospital grade pump, so really if you need it they will give it to you. Mine even had nursing pillows, but I might bring my own this time.

@amysbabies, have you packed your baby bag yet with this pregnancy? Sorry for hijacking post but we’re pretty close to each other based on due date and I’m just curious at to when I need to wash his clothes and pack his bag.

Any good nipple creams that I should buy?

@raqueliiosiis, I actually have. I was putting away clothes and thought, why not! I packed them in his diaper bag and will just toss it in my bag when it’s time. I’ve been washing his clothes as I got them (some hand me downs, some unisex from my daughter, and some things I bought). I’ll do another load after the baby shower. As long as they are folded and put away, they aren’t going to get dusty or anything, so no time like the present, in my mind.

The lansinoh lanolin is what the hospital gave me and what I bought this time. I only tried one other, it was an organic balm, but I like lansinoh better- no need to stock up, one tube will last a while and you may only need 1 tube period.

@amysbabies, I want to screen shoot this reply but with the new rules i don’t think that’s allowed. But I will go look for that cream because my nipples are already starting to bother me. That sounds like a smart idea. I was thinking of waiting maybe 2 more weeks and then packing everything since I have GD they told me they would not let me go pass 39 weeks.

@raqueliiosiis, I don’t care if you do! I think they need to clarify. I think it’s more like personal info ppl were screen shotting and sharing on public sites for whatever purpose. I had GD with my last pregnancy and was induced at 39w too. I had a scare at one of my NSTs and they had me go to L&D at like 37 weeks, but all was well.

@amysbabies, that’s what scares me. I’ll start twice a week appts in a week and I know that if I don’t do well in the NSTs they’ll put me on bed rest and since I work that won’t work for me. They do because sometimes I screenshot replies so I can remember how they cook something or what to buy. And now with this we ban everything I’m worried something so trivial as taking a screen shot of a nipple cream name will get me banned lol. Did you get GD this pregnancy?

@raqueliiosiis, I hope for the best! No I did not, thankfully. I do need to test myself soon though- my concern is that I didn’t have it when tested, but will get it later, as last pregnancy, my body went crazy the last number of weeks and they had to put me on medication. I’m hopping not, but better to be safe!
