what age to tell your child who there real father is I know my baby young but just curious

With my oldest, I waited until she started asking. Her father has never been in her life. She only started asking about him about 2 years ago, she was 10.

When they are old enough to question.

Like others said 10 a good age but if they ask before that maybe a little sooner. My cousin was told another guy was her dad and her real dad also my cousin comitted suicide and only then did she know he was her real dad. I felt bad for her. The guy that's not her dad always treated her like his though which is cool but messed up.

My best friend hasn’t told her daughter yet and she’s 10 or 11. I personally don’t agree with that because I think she’s old enough to comprehend specially if she doesn’t go into detail. Her oldest and her middle child have the same dad the oldest knows but not the middle child. However she has stated asking her mom why she doesn’t have her dads last name like the little one so I told her I think it’s time to say something to her.

Lying to your kids will only hurt them in the end so I think it's best to be honest with them from the beginning. I think once they start asking questions you should tell them in an age appropriate way. I know someone who's mom lied to her about who her real dad was and she was crushed when she found out the truth.
