I need help or some kind of advice because I have no clue what to do.
I just told my five year old daughter she couldn’t do something because she will hurt herself. We she replied to me saying “omg you hate me! Fine I’m going to grab a knife and kill myself!”
I’m so speechless and I feel like I did something wrong. Why would she say that. I couldn’t help but cry.

It’s definitely something she could of picked up from a number of places. My three year old says different things like this, like I am gonna kill you, kill kill kill!! And let’s cut their head off. It’s things they pick up from older siblings, daycare, tv, tablets, don’t feel like you did something wrong, I don’t think that really understand what they say sometimes.

Yeah I think sometimes they just hear things like that and repeat them without thinking. I would question her about what she said, get her talking and talk to her so she can understand how serious what she said was.

I agree with @leslyev, kids can pick up so many things that’s why it’s always good to be careful mostly with this generation now and days it’s sad that bad things can be heard everywhere now but you a good mama you got this talk to her like lesley said
