I am 11 weeks pregnant and I went to my first OB appointment yesterday. They said they wanted to find the heart beat but if we couldn't find it we would get an old sonogram machine and find the baby. Is it normal they did not measure the baby to see if im 11 weeks? My actual sonogram is in October.

Every doctor's office is different but typically they will do a confirmation and dating scan at your first appointment. And the anatomy scan around 20 weeks. There are alot of doctors who still find ultrasounds unnecessary and some who scan at every appointment.

That is weird to me! Usually they do a dating scan and how they determine when you are due.
