Hey mommies! Any of your babies got ear tubes put in at a later age and their speech has been delayed? My 14 month old got ear tubes at 12 months and still doesn’t have any words rather than mama and papa. I’m also concerned because he’s been very sensitive to loud noises. If we cough, laugh, talk to loud he gets super scared and starts crying so bad.
Poor guy! The doctor would know way more about his situation, def check in. Even if its just a phone call to ask a question it will help out
@monavidaa, I thought so since he got tubes in both his ears. Now we just got to make sure we don’t talk to loud. And I love laughing loud lol. He has a checkup in October so I’m going to keep monitoring his behavior. Omg thank you lol he is a cutie just a handful 😂
@kambam, he had a check up a month after he got them. But at that time he wasn’t getting scared easily. Now we can’t even laugh near him because he’ll be screaming bloody murder. We have been trying super hard to get him to try saying more sounds. But I feel like he is not so interested in talking more like just yelling lol
@melxoxo, it’s normal. His ears are super super sensitive and they will be, before the tubes it was probably hard for him to hear well and now that the tubes are in and everything is draining/has drained he’s hearing things like he’s never heard them before so it’s all new and scary. I had tubes put in my ears and my adenoids removed when I was a toddler and that’s exactly how I was.
