So my daughtr can identify body parts, colors, animals....we're working on identifying letters and learning phonetic sounds. Anything that helped your littles with this?
@kirstieh she is so picky with songs. Like some letters songs she loves, then others she listens to for 5 seconds and says "no mommy. Don't like this one".....and it's so random, lol
Anything that has a song with it helped my son. We used a phonics song I found on YouTube I used to learn phonics in the early 90’s and I just recreated the poster. He can easily memorize anything if he can sing it so he had his letter sounds down in a couple days.
@nerdymommyplus2 yea I try to teach her concept words through our general daily conversations, but I could focus more on them.
I know you didn't ask about what else to teach but I see so many kindergarten teacher complain about not knowing "concept" words. Like under, beside , behind because they're crucial for following directions.
My daughter was in speech for announciating sounds.
Repetition, songs. Using example. Let her watch your mouth movement etc
@masseymomma16 We have magnets for the fridge. The bathtub ones are a good idea though because she would stay in the bathtub for hours if I'd let her. Only place she likes to sit still. Lol
@angylynn22, maybe try just the abc song or one in a show she likes - Daniel tiger songs helped us greatly in potty training and cleaning up, etc. my son liked Sesame Street (plus they have awesome free apps for learning letters and numbers we started him on when he was a little past two). Leapfrog had videos on Netflix for learning phonemic sounds.
