Alright, I'm a noob so be gentle! Lol. I plan on breast feeding, but more in the sense of pumping and saving for later? I plan on purchasing the spectra s2, so what do I need exactly? Should I buy more spectra bottles? Is the 2 it comes with okay and buy different bottles incase baby doesnt like those ones? What should I store milk in? Just the bottles? I really need to educate myself on everything I need for feeding I've taken care of my nephews but they were formula fed so breastfeeding is a whole new ball game for me. Also suggestions on breast care? Pads? Can I pump and breastfeed? If I breastfeed should I get nipple guards? Any tips or anything on things that will help me will be great I feel like I'm doing rocket science learning about breastfeeding lol

Get breast milk storage bags to store the Milk in yes you can breastfeed and pump it also helps if you breastfeed first and then pump afterwards also buy nipple shields just in case if you do actually breastfeed it will help you when the two weeks that you're breastfeeding and if you can't get baby to latch right. Get breast pads because you will leak until your body regulates. I would get maybe one other kind of bottle because you never know if your baby will take that bottle that you have or you can wait till babies here and see and then kind of go from there also if you're going to breastfeed don't give baby a pacifier right away wait until month so there's no nipple confusion.

I also picked up Advent brand bottles because they are adaptable with the Spectra pump.

Everyone else covered everything else. I just wanted to tell you. You may get a clogged duct. Put the baby’s chin on that area while they feed. It’s unclog it. It’s hurts like hell. But works. Breastfeeding isn’t easy. Always take it 1 session at a time. Any amount of time you do it is great. Be proud. Have a strong support system. Don’t give up. Those 1st few weeks are brutal. It’ll get better. Buy a lot of breast pads. You will leak. All the time lol.

Get the bamboo reusable breastpads- they were a game changer for me. Don’t buy a ton of bottles, all babies have their own preference. Find one they like before you buy multiples. I only ever had 3 for my ebf baby. Also, look up paced feeding so when baby is bottle fed, you won’t harm your breastfeeding relationship (although even ff babies should be pace fed).

I think everyone said what I would recommend but something really important is that your insurance should cover a pump! So don’t buy one! And most cover the spectra so save yourself the money

@kendrab, yeah pumps are crazy expensive, if they can it’s definitely the better way to go!

@k_nc yes they are! I was upset with the cost when I first looked but everyone gives such good reviews for the spectra s2! Just hope if I do have to buy it out of pocket it's worth it!
