Since when do you have to get the dtap shot with every pregnancy?? I thought i was good for 10 years…

With every year it gets weaker in the body. If was only a year since they wouldn't give you another. But I assume last one you got was when you were last pregnant so that's almost 3 years ago

I was told you have to get it every time you’re pregnant regardless of if it’s less than 10 years

It’s meant to protect the fetus so it’s more for baby than you

Yeah it’s mainly for the baby to have some of that immunity. If you don’t get the shot, the baby doesn’t have it then.

Yep it's not for you so much as it is the baby. The baby can't get those immunizations until they are older. So it is to protect them in the newborn stage before they can get their boosters.

This is an excerpt from our Canadian government. Here it is only offered to pregnant women during a regional epidemic in your area. I myself was only ever offered it with my youngest and that’s because there was an outbreak. @spookylyn It is only offered to pregnant women who have not had the vaccine in adulthood.

It's because the whooping cough part only lasts for like a year and that's the main thing I was told
