Major props to anyone who has a baby without an epidural!! Labor contractions are no joke! I can’t feel my contractions at all since I got my epidural, I was actually able to sleep for a little!! I’ve been in labor for about 10 hours and I’m only dilated to a 3-4😩 still in early labor, hopefully when I get into active labor I dilate faster!

I was stuck at 3 cm for 33 hours. So I got it because the contractions were back to back and the strongest ones, so I started screaming & I was EXHAUSTED so I got the epidural! Around like 36-37 hours I finally dilated fully but then they stopped my pitocin while waiting for my damn doctor so I swelled up and went back down to a 7.

@victoriarollo1, don’t be scared!! Contractions do hurt A LOT but if your planning on getting an epidural you won’t feel them at all after! I was even able to fall asleep!

@merwinsutton, 33 hours? Omg!! Idk how you lasted that long without an epidural, good for you girl!!! My water broke at 5:30 and I started contracting around 7, and got the epidural around 1. I was screaming in pain it hurt so bad, pretty sure people thought I was giving birth from how much I was screaming. You must of been so tired!!

My last labor/delivery I was induced with Pitocin and it was too late for an epidural so I had to deal with off the chart contractions, back labor, and 2nd degree tearing with no pain management. And he was my biggest baby at 8.6, it was horrific but thankfully only 7 hours long. I thought my tail bone was going to break! Luckily, it didn’t.

@blessedboymama, omg!! Props to you girl, I’m in so much pain when my epidural wears off I would not be able to handle that!!

@babybump21, my first was cake thanks to the epidural, easiest delivery I had and I had Pitocin with my first too. My second I wasn’t induced with no Pitocin and the epidural wasn’t done correctly so it didn’t work. And my third was just hell. I would’ve at least tried a water birth if I knew I would need to endure all that naturally. Hopefully they gave you the little hand held button so you can tap it if you feel it wearing off,

Yes it’s no joke. I wanted to go without it SO bad but as soon as they asked I’m like YES GIVE IT TO ME! lol
