Any advice for a mama who is tired of getting smacked by her otherwise great 27 month old? She is smart, sweet and knows better (she even says, "we hug, not hit") but when she gets frustrated or doesn't get her way, I pay the price. I've tried being calm, I've flipped out, I even spanked her tushie the other day out of sheer frustration. Nothing seems to stick. She doesn't do it to anyone but me. :(

I guess she trusts you I guess... you have to be harsh on her, even if you don't like it, like grab her hand when she is trying to hit or hitting and say no? don't know if that helps

@muksu ugh I have. I've been firm, calm, repeatedly and VERY firmly stating over and over (and over) that we do NOT hit mommy or anybody! She gets upset and remorseful and wants to hug it out but the lesson doesn't seem to stick for long. :(

maybe try step 2 and 3? mine are doing it sometimes too, but mostly if they don't like something

If you hit me you Getting hit back. That's a real lesson children and adults need to learn, keep your hands to yourself or else....the or else part just means you don't know how the other person is going to respond so be mindful.
