Trying my hardest to get rid of her dummy's.. but she love's them so much... 😐 I'm such a soft…

My little girl was the same and I felt so guilty taking them but they were starting to effect the growth of her teeth! I got them all together and put them all at the end of the garden and said the baby birds were going to come and get them she was so happy asking loads of questions about where the birds live etc. Haha but it worked she asked a couple of times and I just said remember the birdies need them now your a big girl and she hasn't had one since 😆😆xx

@isabellaboo how old was your little girl when you done that? I don't think Marnie will understand completely.. she's never had a comforter so these are basically her comforter.. sounds like a brillaint idea tho! Xx

I think she was around 2 and a half it Is hard does she have a clothy or special teddy? Maybe you could buy her a little blanket or toy instead and try explaining she has that now instead of dummies as their for babies not big girls. Its keeping to it once you take them away she did have a few unsettled nights at first as I had nothing to comfort her when she cried but she learnt they weren't an option anymore xx

@isabellaboo some really good ideas.. i know its me too .. im just as bad as her and maybe I'm giving them to her beacuse its just easy rather than a tantrum haha but some really good ideas! Thanks xx

When you do feel it's time. Expect a night or 2 of disrupted sleep. There's no way to escape it. But then it's like they never had them. Both mine relied on them for sleep but I forget they even had them until I look back at old pics 😂

When mine were younger I said the dummy fairy needs them for other little babys. We decorated a square tissue box and put dummies inside, told them dummy fairy would give her a special present for giving up her dummies. So next morning dummy fairy left her a special teddy with a little note to say thank you and that the little babies are so happy now they have dummies. Xx

@nataliesmith96 won't lie it was hard lol but having a special teddy helped... my daughter called her teddy pink teddy that she Got, and she had it for years and helped a bit at nights with not having dummies.

@elvisahogg im just going to have to do it.. i was hoping she would do it her self and no longer want them.. but thats obviously dreaming haha xx

@nataliesmith96 I had the same problem with my son 😂 I had to do the dummies box with both of them at same time as he was never giving them up. And i wanted him off them b4 he went to nursery so meant my daughter was quite young when she had to give up as well. The hardest part was finding all there stash of dummies 😂😂 they were hidden EVERYWHERE!!

My mom and dad made me put mine on the Christmas tree for the elves babies, It actually worked xx

I'm hoping the shift to dummies for Xmas. Kylan knows who Santa is so I'm going to incorporate something to do with giving Santa the dummies in exchange for presents. Yours sounds a really good idea @toni_mcentee I might get him to hang them on the tree lol x
