I wanted to get a tattoo to represent the baby we lost. And the guy we went to basically told me my tattoo sucked and wanted to get rid of everything I wanted in it. It made me feel like crap for even trying. He told me it was too complex. But what he wanted to do was way more complex then what I had out. All I asked him to do was to do a different font on the words. And make the wings and halo a little bit smaller. But to him it sucked. And yes that thing in the middle is a cactus with a pacifier and a clip. The cactus was gonna be the theme for the baby.

@tyrellp, Yeah we planned on it. It just kinda made me feel super bad for him to look me in the face and say it sucked and wanted to get rid of everything I thought was important.

Yeah. My mom actually found a place that did water color for her neck tattoo and it turned out amazing. And it still does. I might try there to see what they think. After I went and saw him I cried for hours after we were done talking. He was such a dick about it. And I think he took it too personal because he knew what I was going through cuz he lost one too. Everyone I’ve shown it to has liked it. But you can’t please everyone. I just wish he wouldn’t have been so rude.

Wow. Well count your blessings he showed his true colors and opinions then so you didn’t have that asshole putting ink on your body! I have a memorial tattoo for my brother in my ankle that is composed of several different tiny tattoos and my artist was jazzed about the whole thing and helped me get precisely what I wanted. Did not criticize what themes I wanted or called anything stupid. He was amazing. Definitely find someone who is compassionate and on the same page with you and doesn’t call your ideas stupid. It is your body it will be on the rest of your life! I am sure there are much better tattoo artists that can make your dream memorial tattoo a reality. 💕

@gecko_mom, yeah most definitely. My fiancé actually had a tattoo where all he wanted was color put into it. And he basically called it crap and said he was gonna do a cover up. And didn’t really give him a chance. I didn’t really get a say in that because it wasn’t my tattoo and my fiancé felt kinda pressured into it. Now not that I’m saying what the cover up is bad it actually looks pretty good. But again another instance where he didn’t listen and called it crap.

Definitely DON’T settle. Find someone who will work With you to give you a Beautiful tribute to YOUR baby. And having an opinion from an artist is a good thing but it your body, your baby, and your decision. Don’t let anyone else make it for you. I have a tribute tattoo as well. It reads “I would have given you the world but you got heaven instead” with the dates I brought my angels into this world. The artist wanted to make a few tweaks, some were great but others I felt diminished it’s meaning. You do what’s right for you. I have five tattoos by five different artists. It’s okay to switch it up. Find someone who works for you.
