We had Olivias appointment yesterday with the baby doctor & I'm so happy with everything. We we're told she did once have two kidneys but the tissue didn't fuse to make the two parts of the kidney so they kept growing in the form of cysts & because the tissue wasn't needed her body "ate" it. She now has one very healthy kidney. We have to be very careful though, a fever could be a sign of a bladder infection so as soon as she gets one she has to see a doctor & have her urine checked - we have special bottles to use to collect it. we have to be very careful that she doesn't get dehydrated as it could damage her healthy kidney. She can have calpol as normal but not when sick as this could again damage her kidney.

She also won't be allowed to do contact sports at school but other then that she will lead a normal life. She will have regular check ups and scans to make sure her kidney carries on working well.

At 10 weeks old she is 55cm long & 8lb 4oz small 😍

Since birth she has grown 10cm!! That's 1cm a week ha!
