I'm happy your kids sleep well. I will say that newborns must eat every 2 hours. Not doing so and letting them sleep rather than feeding them often could've been life threatening so I'm happy your kiddo is fine.

My first 3 slept good and this one did when she was little but that’s been gone since 4 months 😫

Neither of mine sleep good. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 2 year old was up last night at 2 until sometime after 4. My 3.5 year old has been awake since 5:15 this morning. I can count on one hand the number of times either of them have slept through the night. And I’m having twins next month.

A newborn doesn’t have to wake to eat every two hours once they’ve made their birth weight unless they are having trouble gaining.

Neither of my kids were good sleepers as newborns lol, I’ll never be that lucky. My first had bad reflux and my second was breastfed and colicky so she was up crying most of the night if not eating.

@vvrobinson, I was told not to wake her. She was well over her birth weight, gaining fine. They said she was fine sleeping longer stretches. That came from her pediatrician and wic. It was always 4-6 hours. Never more. But to me that is “through the night” because I never sleep. I also didn’t breastfeed her for very long. Even though I wish I wouldn’t have stopped. She’s a happy chunky baby. Trust me, I worried at first because my first NEVER slept and ate every hour. So in the hospital even when she was first born I asked because she was eating every 3-4 hours when I was breast feeding. Then at her 2 day appt I asked again because her first night home she slept 6 hours.

@dcjc_x2 I'm sure you've checked. I'm just saying just in case someone who reads your post as a new mom and thinks all night sleeping is normal for newborns. My kiddo caught up with her weight about 2 weeks in so our pedi said it was ok to let her sleep in also, she's gone 4 hours at the most so far. It's so nerve-wracking when theyre so tiny, there's always that cloud of doubt and fear hanging over you, even when it's your second or third 😬😊

@jellybeans_mumm, lol we stopped co sleeping when she was 4months. At that time she slept through the night, so back to the crib was a breeze thank goodness 😅.
