Family friendly guard dogs?

Which are the best? We were planning on getting a new dog but after reading that Peeping Tom post a few days ago, I now know it needs to be a good guard dog/protector of my babies!!

I need help!!! Something is wrong with my dog and I have no money or job to take him to the vet. I think hes dying idk

I really need to vent. My landlord does not allow dogs but for my depression and anxiety my doctor recommended getting a dog. She said we could register it as an Emotional Support Animal so by law my landlord had to allow it. My Hubby is 100% against it just because our landlord doesn't allow dogs. He says we will be evicted even though we couldn't be since it would be illegal. My Hubby says if we can find an apartment that allows animals we can get one but I've looked and looked and the only on...

really need to start trying to get stuff for Maddox... my landlord threw all of our stuff out and it all got taken by other people.... :'(
