I don't think you have to... but you probably don't qualify for any leave or anything like that. I started my job at ehhh 14wks or so, left at 34wks. And I still have my job but unpaid leave. I can come back as long as it's no more than 6mo from when I left

I started a job at the very end of the second trimester and didn’t disclose the pregnancy to them until I was like 33/34 weeks because I didn’t want them to think I wouldn’t be a good worker, and didn’t want them to not hire me knowing I wasn’t coming back after I had the baby. You do not have to disclose your pregnancy and can’t be fired simply for being pregnant but some employers will find other ways to get rid of you if they really don’t want a pregnant woman working for them.

They tried to jerk me around though... Told me that I had to just put my two weeks in and be completely hired back. I had to make several meetings with people above. Make sure you ask about what kind of benefits you have and stuff and they tried to get me to quit but I worked until I couldn't anymore and I do in fact have a job there still. When I feel like coming back, within 6mo.

Yeah they tried harddddd to make me quit too, by making things really hard on me.

I plan to do an amazing job and just take a short leave. I think they will be understanding they are a very small, Christian, family company. I just didn't want to risk them thinking I can't handle the work. This way by the time baby is close I'll have already made a fantastic impression and hopefully they won't be too upset.

You dont ever have to disclose your pregnancy, it is nothing but a courtesy for you to do so. I chose not to disclose my pregnancy this time around because of the many things that were going on in the personal life of my boss. Instead I made sure that I am prepared to work from home without issues. I have confidence that it wont be an issue for my career, but I have been with the same company since I was 19. If you're just starting a job, you most likely won't qualify for paid leave, but you are always entitled to keep your job whether you share your pregnancy or not. That being said, it's true some places will try and find any excuse to get rid of you.
