Does anyone know anything about hemangiomas? My daughter has 2, and this one on has that black scabby looking area. The black started off pretty small about 2 weeks ago, and at the time we had her 2month check up, but it wasn't with her regular peditrician because she is out this whole month, so it was with a nurse practicioner. Anyways, she said it was just a scab and at some point it must have gotten scratched/bled. But it's been like a week since then and the black scab seems to have gotten bigger, which makes me think it may be something other than a scab. Am i just being paranoid?

@fakoffyeh I'm waiting until her pediatrician is back in office so she can look at it, so ill call first day of September! I ac.tually may call the specialist peadiactric dermatologist she saw if I can find her number, and see of we can just send her a picture and see what she says (she's like 2.5 hours away from us) I just don't think scabs grow..

I would get a second opinion as soon as possible. I have a hemangioma, and at the age of 42 it's still there. I was always told to be careful not to cut it open because it could be really dangerous. Of course, now that I think about it, I don't remember anyone ever telling me WHY it was bad. Regardless, that doesn't look good.

I def wouldn’t wait until September 1 to call, if her pedi isn’t there and you didn’t like the opinion of the one in her place def take her somewhere else. Could be nothing but better safe then sorry.
