I’m sure it’s just my hormones talking but days like today I just want to curl up and cry. My 1 year old is stubborn (like his daddy) and since birth my husband has drilled “Da-Da” so now it doesn’t matter how hard I try and get him to say “Momma” he will scream “Da-Da” back at me. Now don’t get me wrong some days I can get him to say momma 1-2 times but others it’s Da-Da all the way. I know it shouldn’t bother me but it just upsets me. I’m a stay-at-home mom with our two boys, so it would be nice to hear momma every once in awhile. *** I finally had a breakdown and cried about it and it hurt my husband because he didn’t see how bad it bothered me till now.*** Sorry I just had to vent. I’m sure someone is/has gone through this before and understands.

My son basically says daddy, but he favors me lmao. When he is in a stubborn mood he will say mom or mama haha. It'll come to him, hes still young. Like my son's first word was mama. But was just daddy after that and only until recently at 22 months he started mama again.

@bluepenguin, my sons first word was dada and he is stubborn too. He usually says momma when someone is making him mad. (But that’s very rare) we try getting him to say momma but he will just repeat dada. I even sounded out momma and he thought it was funny to sound out dada back to me. 😂

@savanna_moore1103 it also might be easier for him to say as well. Or yknow stubborn kids haha. My son still can say very few words, he isn't very talkative. He used to actually call everything daddy, then he started saying 'this!' when trying to associate objects. However when he needs something he says daddy. Recently he learned 'yea' and 'ow' however he can say 'okay' and 'no' as well

@bluepenguin, awe!!! My oldest is very talkative and so is my middle son, so I figured when our other little peanut gets here he/she will be too!😂 I bet yours was excited to learn new words!

My daughter calls me dada sometimes too. But she also prefers me over him. She sometimes says mom or mama, but usually she just yells dada at me.
