I only got 2 packs of 40. The remaining are boxes of size one cause I heard the newborn size is so small and baby won't feet in them for long.. @shay2beautiful
I’d get a variety of different brands! Just in case baby is allergic to a specific brand. Maybe a box of each brand. You can always exchange for a new size with whatever you don’t use, so long as it’s unopened.
At the newborn stage I only brought small packs of diapers to see which kind worked best for us first. Then after I knew the brand I liked we brought a big box as needed
@shay2beautiful, We had a TON of Huggies given to us by my MIL. Turned out baby girl was severely allergic. Pampers and Luvs were my favorite. We never tried out the store brands.
- We wore newborn diapers for a little over two months. I think it just depends 🤷🏻♀️ maybe start with two or three packs. Or a box or two, you can always get more. ?
@shay2beautiful they were all over 9lbs. If you're worried about buying a size or brand your baby might not be able to use, you could just buy gift cards and put them up to use for when you need diapers. That way you can buy what you know you need but don't have to worry about already having the money. Just an idea someone gave me since I can't ever buy diapers ahead of time. My kids always have sensitive skin so I never know what brand will work for them.
It really depends on the baby. As long as you don’t open them, you could always exchange them for a bigger size. I’d buy a couple boxes or like someone above suggested- buy a box and put the money you were going to spend on a gift card to use. With my first, I heard everyone keep saying that kids grow out of newborn too fast to really use them. Both of my kids were in newborn for over a month because they were long and skinny. Lol.
I used maybe two small things of newborn and my daughter honestly probably should’ve just started off in a size one lol but my son he probably used one big box of newborn
We had to keep buying them but my daughter was super tiny. Everyone said to in my get a couple small packs. I wish I would have gotten a case. It was so inconvenient to have to keep going and getting more small packs
With my first I got none. Only size ones. They usually use size ones in the hospital when you have them. And they fit him good. This baby I got like 3 packs given to me but myself I bought like 4 boxes of size 1s lol
I have 1 and I am waiting there because we had our growth scan and it sounds like he will be 8lbs at birth so we won't need them long. I have: 1 box newborn, 3 box size 1, 4 boxes size 2, 3 size 3, and 1 size 4 so far....just from target deals (buy the up and up brand...fits just like pampers...much cheaper. Target has deals like buy $100 in diapers and wipes and get a $30 gift card so that's what I did).

I wouldn't get more than one large box to start. My ds3 grew out of them within two weeks.
Penelope ·
I bought 2 smaller packs of newborn, and a friend gave me the rest of her open newborn diapers she didn’t use. I wouldn’t get many.
Victoria ·
My first baby used a box and my second went straight into ones.
