😕 I was told by my job that my maternity pay would start from the 19th of July.. I handed in my MATB1 and my start date was giving to me. So payday was yesterday and I didn't receive any of it. I rang up to enquire and i was supposidly ment to go online and register myself as on maternity (but nobody made me aware of this or obviously I would have). Is there anything I can do? I'm left having to go 4 weeks with next to nothing. I have no idea how I'm going to pay my bills.

If its SMP then they should be able to issue you a emergency payment or rapid payment although being the weekend I'm not sure how ur company runs

@jamelauk I did ask about being able to back date it but I was speaking with my night manager who wasn't too sure about the whole thing. I'm literally praying they can back date it and send it out asap. Prolly have to give them a call in the morning

@clarelushx they just have to input the start date and it would calculate what you was due then you would get 68% of that if it's done as an emergency payment (advance) as the rest is set aside for taxes for that month but gets corrected on your next pay if that makes sense. Some companies are allowed to issue a payment from the actual safe if its that much of an emergency and you have nothing

@rachaellw I personally think they just never processed it and they are trying to find a way to throw the blame onto me. They messed my pay up the other month too n that was the scenario then so I'm thinking it's that x
