I actually was just watching a rerun episode of Dr. Phil where a couple had a baby and the doc told them the baby's make up in hormones and everything came back as 70% male and 30% female but it was their decision and they chose to make the baby a girl. I was insanely baffled but I didn't really think about the ones who are say 50/50 or really close

Don't get me wrong. I don't force gender roles or toys or clothes or behaviors or any of that but having a gender x 🤔. It's like this they babies trend. What happened to letting kids be kids.

I actually got I'm an argument because I said I would let my children change genders if they chose to then someone commented "you can't change DNA"

I commented back that women can be born with men's dna and they never replied back 😂

Physically is different. Intersex is different. I don't agree with parents pushing gender fluity on kids though. I mean I'll let my kids be kids and dress and like what they want (I mean my 6 year old all about Dino's and Pokemon 😂) but I'm not forcing them to grow up gender fluid and gender x would be doing the same thing.

@nerdymommyplus2 @crazylifex2 I agree with not pushing roles, I have no problem with my daughter wanting to run around in what may be considered more boy clothes and play in the mud, I did it as a kid. I also have no problem with my son wanting to play with baby dolls. I think my main thought is the gender roles are being pushed into one or the other with things. Like baby dolls are seen as girl toys so boys who want to play with them are seen as wanting to be girls or "are girls" even though maybe they just want to care for the baby, it's instinct. Or girls can't be just "tomboys" anymore, with being a girl but still enjoying things that aren't necessarily seen as a popular girl topic with like cars or football.

Yeah it's actually kind of ridiculous to find my oldest a Pokemon or dino shirt in boys clothes because they aren't for girls 🙄

@spookylyn in physical cases I would understand more, but there have been scientific studies that show born one and wanting to be another or believing you are another is something in your brain development that didn't line up properly. Saying being that way actually a mental disability, just like depression or all the way to autism. What is your take on that, I honestly love your comments and watching them, I love that your opinions aren't necessarily one sided but they are still different.

@nerdymommyplus2 i absolutely love dinosaurs. Growing up from birth to now my favorite movies have been jurassic park. I was always very into that and I asked my fiance if we could involve dinosaurs with our little girl coming, no problem with her having toys but he said if I could find it in girls clothes items he would support it as a baby before she could choose for herslf but there's like nothing there. I don't understand how an animal can be classified as appropriate for one and not the other by society/productions.

@spookylyn Looking at it from the disability point of view; I don't believe your mental state defines who you are at all. That's something that is also trying to be pushed for in all the debates and rights movements going on right now. A disability should not define you as a person. I read that story as well and one that was opposite with a woman who discovered she was actually a man. Now, yes there are definitely things with your brain that you would be able to say they do define you and this could, very well, be that type of thing.

So, that isn't really what this new measure does. You can only apply for the change to an X if you are over the age of 18 and have an existing WA state birth certificate. You cannot choose to mark an X for a newborn or even change your gender to X if you are still a minor. This is only for adults who know that they do not identify with a gender binary.

I was incorrect in my last comment, though, a minor can apply for the X with the approval of their parents and a licensed medical professional, but it still would not be an option for newborns. Or, if I'm reading this correctly, for anyone whose birthday certificate was issued by another state.

i didnt like them putting the x. because boy is boy and girl is girl.
