ADVICE!!!! So my son is 7 days old, he got discharged on Wednesday night. I’m not sure if this is postpartum depression but for some reason I can’t sleep when my baby sleeps because I keep having nightmares that something bad happens. When he sleeps I have to stay up and watch him, I check every couple seconds. He makes a noise and I get really scared. When I’m in the car I think I’m going to get in accident and sometimes I think someone is going to steal my baby. When I was in the hospital, in my head I thought he had a seizure while he was in the intensive care unit (I have epilepsy, and so does his grandmother;father side), it scares me because I think he going to get sick. I literally went through about 10 outfits on him today because I think it going to hurt him if he’s dirty and I want him extra clean all the time. I had a lost prior to this baby (he was born at 23 weeks) and This baby was born at 35 weeks and 5 days. I’m not upset or anything I actually enjoy these moments with him and I’m like overly excited. I don’t feel depressed it’s just I feel like something is a little off about me. It’s like I have OCD or something.
I know you guys aren’t doctors/therapist/psychologist but I just want to know if anyone ever been through anything similar.
(Sorry for the typos and spelling/grammar errors)

Sounds like post partum anxiety

I agree it sounds like anxiety, but he is only seven days old. Call your OB if it gets really bad because you need sleep.

I’m a social worker who works as a therapist . It sounds like anxiety ( everyone is right ) I think that you have ptsd from your first pregnancy that you lost . It happens ... if you don’t feel sad let your doctor know. It’s normal and I think every mother that I’ve spoken to including myself has gone through some form of post partum . Let your doc know about this as well.
