So Allaiyah has recently been refusing bits of her feeds which isn't like her. She also has taken a serious interest in people eating to the point of crying watching you eat. She's making some signs as if she's ready for weaning but isn't sitting up yet. I want to try leave it till she's sitting up but I'm abit confused about what to do!

It’s recommended that you wait until at least 6 months and that they show all signs of being ready eg sitting up along with a few other things. Hold off, it will be better for her in the long run.

@mariapb I know that's why I've spoken to my health visitor and she's coming out to see me! And she just sat up on her own for a few seconds 🙈 I want to wait as long as I can but just want some advice. Glad she's coming to see me to speak about it xx

If they can sit up unaided and hold ther own head.
I started charlie on baby porridge and baby rice at 17 weeks.
The guidelines changed it used to be 4 months now it's 6.
Relfux babies often start sooner as it helps with the acid coming up.

There's nothing wrong with letting her try a little baby porridge at this point.. you can feed her it sat in a bumbo or on your lap so she's upright. I knew when my little one wanted a bit more than milk and you will get that mothers instinct when yours wants to try more things. Personally I don't see how a little baby porridge now nd again can do any harm. Just give her time to digest to see if it has any negative effects on her tummy. Usually baby porridge doesn't cause problems x

@laurabump27 Allaiyah has reflux! And she can hold her head up really well. She just isn't sitting up alone at the minute. She did for 3 seconds today but it's the first time. She's obsessed with people eating and stuff and everything goes in her mouth at this point 🙈xx
