Sorry to hear that hun. My sister in law had gestational diabetes while pregnant with her son.

It’s not that bad. I’m on my third round with GD, and have been able to control it with diet and exercise. Your dr should have you meet with a nutritionist to come up with a plan for how many carbs you should have per day and how you should break that down. They should also make sure you have a glucose monitor and prescriptions for test strips and lancets. You’ll have to test your blood, probably 4 times a day. This can be diet controlled, which could just mean slightly changing the way you eat, like adding snacks in the morning and afternoon, balancing your carbs through the day, and adding more protein or veggies to your diet. I’ve learned that by not having a carb-heavy meal and balancing my carbs with protein really helps.

I just found out yesterday I have GD too, my doctor scared the crap out of me with all the risks 😕
