Okay question. Financial aid. My neighbor told me that I should get around 10-12k for a full year. Since I’m a single unemployed mom. And I would get a certain amount every 11-16 weeks to help cost of living. She said after paying for her classes she got 3-6k check every semester. I only got 6k for a full year. So after paying for this semester, I have 1400 left, and that’s before books. Problem is I really needed that extra for a laptop, and to help with gas to and from school. What did I do wrong? Helllllp me.

Dunno. Would have to see tuition/class fees/other fees. Seems expensive. My whole 4 years of college were probably 3 or 4k combined

I think it also depends on what school you're attending. Some of my financial aid did. Also @kambam what state are you in? Gotta move there for when my kids get older lmfao 1 year of college for me cost over $30k even community college was over $7k a year.

I'm in cali so I'm sure it's way more expensive? Just went to a normal jr college for my AA. But I had fafsa and small grants. Fafsa was like 2k a semester and grants waived tuition I believe. Sheesh i don't remember. I also never bought books. I feel like anything over 5k for jr college is ridonkulous! @emily526

@kambam My University was out of state I'm betting that's why it was so expensive. I forgot it's cheaper if you stay in state as well.

University then. Mine was just a junior college so makes sense. I refuse to go back to school unless they make it free 😩 @emily526

It’s a community college. Books are apparently required even for online classes. I can rent or buy them, but I think if I rent aid won’t cover it. Not 100%. But all I’m taking right now is general classes, and she said for her general classes she got 10k for a full year.

10k?! Thats a lot. And yes you can rent the books. I'm assuming the money goes on a card? So you can do whatever you want with it. They always say books are required but I used my judgement for which I actually wanted, never needed some.

@kambam, here they don’t put it on a card. After you pay for classes and books, they send the rest on a check 30 days after school starts. 😩

Ok. You can still rent the books then. Definitely don't buy them, way too expensive.
