So i am an single mom and I be so emotional after i had my baby. Like people keep telling me to put my child father on child support but his family told me they won’t nothing to do with my daughter and i just been so emotional because i feel like it’s getting hard to do everything alone but i know this assistance will help out a lot but i just know how much i gotta deal with
Why don’t you apply for cash ad ? Even though dad doesn’t want anything to do with your baby it’s his responsibility ether the hard way or easy way 🤷♀️ it’s the law if he doesn’t want to help you gotta do what you have to
In my state it is required you file for child support if you need any state assistance, like I have my son in daycare and I was required to file. I say do it as soon as you can because it could take a while... I filed last August when my son was already a year old, haven't heard anything back. I pay for everything by myself except the state pays sommmee of my daycare. About to have another baby and stuck at my parents because I only make enough to barely take care of my kids.
If it's already hard to do it alone (which I TOTALLY understand) then do it now. Cause like I said I have been waiting over a year and still heard NOTHING back.
Oh yeah I would definitely file then, and if you need an excuse, which you totally don't as this child is not only your responsibility but his... Then you can say you legit had no other choice. My baby daddy was pissssed at me. "You could have just told them I do help you and still get help" Uhhh nahhh... Then why do I need help if you helping me? File as soon as you can and get results back MAYBE within a year. You do what you need to do for your child. Just cause he wants nothing to do with it all, doesn't mean he gets his wish. It doesn't work like that.
I wish I filed way before I did. But here I am still with no results.

Well my reason for needing daycare and filing was because I was working, and needed someone to watch my son! Daycare is expensiveeee and I would have literally had to give them all my money, to have childcare, to work, and make just enough money to pay for the childcare? That is a very bad cycle. Lol then you still have no money to take care of your kid. Sure I filed because I wanted to but really I see no other choice. With the states help I now only have to pay $65 per month out of pocket, so I can work and make money for my rent and car and my childs needs. If I didn't file I would be screwed. Still he has not paid anything and will owe back child support, but I shouldn't have to work just to pay for the childcare and give em every penny I got
File for child support! Who cares about his family. Just his him to pay is all thay matters! Good luck!
His family wasn’t involved in making your daughter so their opinion doesn’t matter. If they don’t want to be involved, ok peace out. But the father.. oh honey honey.. that man should want to help.. for his daughters sake. What type of parents chooses to put their child through a bad situation?
Did he sign the birth certificate and claim paternity?
@floralfairy, he didn’t sign the birth certificate he wasn’t even there to see her born my mother call and told him i was in labor and he didn’t show up.

@floralfairy, right honestly i dont have no contact to reach him now the number i got his disconnected right now it’s me and my mom step dad and her god mother that’s been helping me get stuff she needs.
@reanasanders26, you know.. if it were ME.. and not everyone thinks this way but I’d rather just not even have him on our lives. He doesn’t want to be a part of your daughters life. And even though receiving money might sound like a huge help, I personally wouldn’t want money from someone who wants nothing to do with his child. It’s tougher doing it alone, but not rough forever. You truly don’t need him. At this point your mom&dad. She doesn’t need that fool. Surround her and yourself a round positive and good role models. Not people like him.
@floralfairy, omg see you understand so much like i tell people i don’t care about the child support i don’t want nothing to do with him. I just have to be the mom & dad to my daughter and promise to love and protect her through everything and be there for her no matter what she go through. ❤️ and i know it’s gone be hard but i know I’m be the best mom i can be 🤞🏾
@reanasanders26, exactly. Child support ties not only him to you but it’s ties you and her to him and all his crap. My mother raised my older 2 sisters alone (and they are close in age, a year apart).. with no help from their dad. She would rather work hard for her kids than to keep a man like that around just for the money. Raise your daughter right, protect her, don’t let her make your mistakes, teach her to respect herself, to be good in schoool, to have good friends, try to not fight or cuss around her. You got this. It’s hard now because she’s new, you don’t sleep much. But time flies and one day you’ll have a 5yr old heading off to kindergarten. And who knows who will be in your life by then.
