yes it's a bit odd... maybe your friend needs a bit more mommy time too... sometimes it's just that they don't see their parents as parents due to something? or just parents calling each other by the names? maybe try to have the parents call eachother mommy and daddy? its hard to say, as the trigger is unknown.... our oldest called me once by my name, but he went back to mommy

@muksu, I understand he’s a kid and all but his mother doesn’t like it.. I wouldn’t be comfortable with my kids calling me by my name.

might be a phase... or its just that way... i know someone who cald the parents by their names... it's not so bad I think :) if he likes it more why not? I mean everyone else calls people by the names, so why not also children their parents :)
