Ladies with COOPER IUD/ IUD’S ? What are the pros & cons of this birth control that you have…

I plan on getting the hormonal one but was told I can get either immediately after giving birth. Since there is no estrogen in it, it doesn't affect you or the baby while you breastfeed.

I got my Mirena put in when they did my c section. I just went and got it trimmed as my uterus shrunk. Didn't affect my supply breastfeeding/pumping at all was an oversupply for first 4 months. I haven't had a real period either I just spot a few days every month. The only cons I've seen are that it can kinda extend the post birth bleeding (I bled for 3months vs 6-8weeks but was only heavy the first 2 weeks post baby) and the strings hurt when they start poking out.

- Oh my gosh it’s amazing! I had it for eight years, had it out, got pregnant within 6 months of not trying. Pro no hormones. Pro no daily routine. Pro it’s awesome 😅 I already had heavy periods, so no change. But it did help with the cramping I had during my cycle. I had one put back in at my 6pp check, I breastfeed. 💪🏻

I'm wondering about this too... hubby will have a vasectomy but in the mean time....

@_mommyoftres the Mirena does have progesterone in it. It does make your periods go away completely. I had it for 5 years and I really loved it, I got pregnant 3 weeks after removing it. I think the elimination of periods was the best thing ever. I have PCOS which would make my period last weeks at at time and making that go away saved me so much stressed and money on feminine products.
