Can anybody tell me if poison oak is contagious and will spread if you scratch everything I have googled and EVERYTHING ONLINE says it’s not contagious and cannot spread through scratching but my fiancé and midwifes argues different

The oil of the plant is what contagious. As long as that oil is still on you, or if you scratch it and it produces more oil that is what’s contagious.
I'd treat it as contagious. We get poison ivy here all the damn time. It's best to not scratch it regardless off whether it can be transferred or not, also just wash your hands after coming in contact with it, in case is it transferred and spread due to scratching.
It is contagious! And you will spread it if scratched. Cheap and fast way to get rid of it(it burns like a mother trucker FYI) scratch it open, mix 50 % Clorox Bleach and 50% water in the sink. With a sponge, dab it on there very good and it all clear up fast. The Clorox kills it. But man does it burn
You can get a wash for it at the pharmacy over the counter. Ask the pharmacist
