Why do babies like to play with everything that's not a toy

I KEEP ASKING MYSELF THE SAME QUESTION

I literally wonder about this everyday. I'm constantly asking my husband "why is she playing with a wipe?" "why is she crawling around with a hairclip?" "how did she get that water bottle?" and he's just like well she's quiet... I'm never buying another toy again 🙄

Yeah, I think about all that money wasted on toys when I could’ve given him a box and the empty roll from the paper towels & he would’ve been as happy as can be.
