Yep happened to me with my son.

My midwives always told me the ultrasound machine could be off up to a pound. The day before my daughter was born I had a last ultrasound and the machine said she was 5 lbs 11 oz. She was born the next day at 5 lbs 10.5 oz.

@mhbb3, I just hope more woman can stand up for themselves and know that for thousands of years people had big babies naturally. Also, if this can save one person from having to suffer a c-section then awesome!👏🏼

@wickedlittlethings., exactly. And they also take the shape of the head into consideration. Some people just have bigger noggins! That doesn’t mean the whole child will be extra large.

I just realized the other day that when she checked me at my last appointment she was actually sweeping my membranes 5and deliberately sent me into labor, he wasn't ready to come, pooped in the womb and I had to get a c section when she couldn't get him out with forceps. I said I wanted to wait for him to come on his own. She said it was a terrible idea.

@jennatess, I was praying to AVOID a c section. They weren’t about to convince me shit. 😂 But I knew I wasn’t going to have a big baby.

I was told my daughter would be 8 pounds at least and wen I had her she was 7 pounds 9 ounces so close but not 8 pounds I figured if they can be off on the age they can be off on the weight but this post is so important :) I used to hate wen I got prego with my son since his dad is big everyone was all ways telling me he's gonna be a big baby ima get him 3mo outfits and up so u can actually use them a d then he came out at 38 weeks and was 7 pounds 11 ounces and barley fit newborn he was swimming in them and could technically fit premie better cuz he had weight issues

I’m so grateful that my Dr has never pushed anything on me. He’s always so laid back, and let’s us just go with the flow. When they did an ultrasound the night before I had my second, they measure him at 6.8pounds. We were all shocked when he weighed 9lbs9oz the next afternoon.

My new obyn was actually telling me about it. I knew he for sure said “2017” so I bet u can find it. We were discussing my options for a VBAC & that led to my daughters weight, and that let to this bit of info he told me.

@hawkinsmommy, yep. Like I said, “not all doctors”. Just a study. Doctors do God’s work, I truly believe that. But, unfortunately there are a handful who really enjoy that extra 3x payout on a c-section.

My doctor told me 8 pounds 5 ounces 2 days later I gave birth and he was 6 pounds 12 oz

Mine underestimated lol, I was minutes away from being taken to the OR while in labor. They had to flip me over on my hands and knees at one point to push bc my little one just didnt want to come out lol. Ended up being 8 lbs 5 oz, she was estimating 7 lbs

Haha, yeah, mine was almost two pounds over the estimate. I did have him via c-section, but at that point I was asking for it, haha. I was done. 3.5 hours of pushing with nothing to show for it.

Good thing the estimate was pretty much right on with all three of mine

my last ultrasound the ested my baby girl at 10lbs 12 oz and i was like no way im pushing this baby out she will rip me in half when she came she weighed 10lbs 9oz and 23 1/2 inches long

I was trying to have a vbac w my 2nd and my dr was like u sure u dont wanna schedule a c section because hes probably gonna be 10 lbs I was like nope If hes 10 pounds I'll deliver him like i want. Still ended up having a section bt i wasnt going for that

Thank God my doctor was the total opposite lol I wanted a C-section so bad I even asked her she said NO I wanted one bc I was terrified of pushing she would not let me at all lol but long story short I had the best labor and delivery hardly felt any contractions only pushed for 12 mins and she was here 😊

This happened to me! My last appointment my doctor mentioned that baby may be to Big and that I may have to have a c section. Fast forward a week later my water breaks and I Labor for 18 hours and got stuck at 7 cm he came in and said if I didn’t progress to 8/9cm in an hour that we would do a c section bc he thinks baby is big. This without ever doing any tests to see. He also said he was concerned about infection bc it had been a while since my water broke and I gotten a fever which was only 99 degrees. I basically didn’t have a choice in the matter . I was terrified and hurt and felt helpless. My daughter was only 6 pounds 13 oz

That’s horrible. Thankfully my doctors never pushed me to get a c-section which I am grateful for. All of my boys were over 8lbs too. Even with my last being in labor over 22 hours they never pushed one on me. I understand, a true emergency but to push one on Mother’s because they get a bigger paycheck is absurd!

Same with all these ultrasounds and having to go to "specialists" they are all in on it. Only thing these doctors care about is their paycheck at the end of the day.
