Reading about the methods of pain relief scare the crap out of me. I'm planning to go all natural but since I've never been in labor before how am I supposed to know if I can handle it, especially with how long it can drag out. I'm trying to become comfortable with the thoughts but everytime I read about it I want to cry. Life would be easier if you knew how long youd be in labor for lol... I'm just so miserable thinking about labor pains and even more miserable thinking if for some reason I'll need a c section.. really need to get these fears straightened out so I can think of them without such fear and anxiety

Just take it as you go. You may not hurt as much as some. You will know if you want drugs once active labor starts

I didn’t research anything. I took a birthing class and was in the room while my SIL delivered her kids but other then that I had no idea. My plan was all natural. I was induced at 8 and by 10 I was in quite a bit of pain. I decided to ask for an epidural because when my SIL was induced both time it was a 12 hour labor. I thought there was no way I could take this for that long. When my nurse checked me she said it was to late. Honestly I’m relieved. My son was born 11:58. I’m planning on doing it again. I tore but my recovery was easy!
Everyone is different. You’ll never know what it’s truly like until you’re there. There are so many what ifs. My advice is to have a plan and have a backup. Try not to stress out about it. Labor is a small amount of time in the grand scheme of things. Our bodies are built to do this. Stay positive momma, it’ll all be okay.

With my 1st my husband pre-paid for my epidural even though I told him
I wanted to try it as long as possible! I made it several hours in labor but as soon as I felt true TRUE contractions I wanted to kiss my husband for not wanting to see me hurt so much. Its intense, but I know lots of Moms who go natural & use essential oils and really neat birthing methods. I'm having #3 soon and I've never regretted my epi's 😜
