I’m about to make a huge change and I’m extremely anxious. I’m worried it hurts us rather then help. How did some of you make the transition to being a stay at home mom from being a full time second income?

@mhbb3, I would have to find a job that I can have my daughter with me or else it wouldn’t be worth it.

@michellep A lot of cooking, and planning I dilute our laundry soap and dish soap to stretch it a little further. Lots of meal planning. I cook and whatever's left over I try to eat the next day or the day after.

I get bored but I recently signed up for online schooling. I garden and our veggie scraps go in to a compost pile. It's good as long as you stay busy.

I do worry what it's going to be like when I have the baby and my toddler. Prayer😊

Could you work part time or work from home?

@michellep definitely less eating out during the week. We do it as a treat here and there now but I'm cooking at home at lot more. I sold anything that had no purpose to me to just have some extra cash on hand. There's a lot of free things to do in the community with the kids too, so we go to those instead of paying every day to do something fun! It's not too hard. Depends on your bills mostly.

@ajowens1547, was there anything you thought you needed but found you could do without or any helpful cut backs?

It's such a hard thing to get used to. But watch your finances! Be all business for a while that way you have enough leeway for more things later.
