Had my 32 weeks additional scan - all seemed to be fine, baby is heads down measured 1760 g.
This was followed by endocrinologist. I am currently on levothyroxine 125mg and my TSH is 0.55 with 0.35 lower limit. TSH was 1.2 past time. So I raised I need a decreased doze but the doctor said it would be reviewed 6 weeks after delivery and adjusted. No much justification given and I am feeling I am risking to overdose soon as baby is in active growth and started producing own hormones.
Other concern I had was swelling which started just now and my blood pressure is 125 as opposed to 95 before. I know 125 is generally perfectly normal but I never had such high before. I was normally 100-110 before pregnancy and it dropped since I conceived. So its definitely high for me and its two months to go and the trend isn't great. Again they said its all fine with no explanation.
Than I had my antenatal app (yes, with all the waiting spent half of the day in the hospital). And it was a disaster. I asked about labour and delivery saying what if I don't want to have vaginal examination as it doesn't have much value in terms of labour progression and will stress me out. I wanted to know if this would be respected by the staff. And the midwife got all aggressive saying she HAD to check me every four hours. If I don't want to I should have home birth. Also if I don't want manual examinations I need to sign to take all the responsibility for the baby. She was not listening and keep saying are you a doctor and how can you know better?
Was a complete disaster. We moved towards what if I am not progressing within the protocol (written 30 years ago) and dilated less they would need to stimulate the labour. So obviously it looks I will have to argue and fight every step to have a natural birth with no medical interventions. Thinking of changing my hospital (currently with Harlow) to Lister. Any advice?
