#Ad We’ve officially entered the teen years with my oldest son. He’s almost 14 years old and it’s still shocking to me, especially now that he’s taller than me, too! With William being our oldest, he’s our milestone marker. He’s the trailblazer for us in each new phase of parenthood. There’s always new lessons to teach with each new age and right now for us, it’s teaching our teen about being financially responsible. It’s never too early to start teaching your kids saving tips and the time for us is now.

I made William an Additional Card Member this summer. He’s always out and about with his friends, so I knew this would be a great and easy way to teach him financial responsibility. I love that by adding him to my account I can set alerts and budget his spending. It’s such a hands-on way for William to learn first-hand the importance of budgeting, saving and being smart with his spending. I love that Amex has this for teens, ages 13 and older, to start teaching responsible spending habits.
