While I have not experienced this myself, I have been told amniotic fluid smells very sweet. The only suuure way of knowing is for them to swab you at the hospital. I was sure this was happening to me but apparently I was peeing myself little by little without knowing, or just sweating a lot.

Your water is usually really thin and has no odor. Discharge is a little thicker and usually has a slight odor.

Don't go off of how much is coming out alone though. Mine was leaking with my 2nd baby and it was a small amount. Almost like I was peeing my self a little. When in doubt call your doctor and see what they say.

By getting it checked I had this happen recently didn't realize what was happening so I waited till the hubby came home so I could go to the hospital wound up founding it was my water and I had loss the baby if I went sooner maybe the baby would be ok the thing is I was barely losing any just thought it was discharge it wasn't til later I was getting concerened so from my experience I would tell anyone to go to the doctors not everyone's situation is the same

I can also say don't just call your doctor go to the hospital your doctor can't tell over the phone

@stevens.mary18 well that scares the shit out of me excuse my French! I was told by my doctor to go to bed with a pad on and if its wet tomorrow morning go or if I'm that worried even 3 hours if its wet to just go! I'm really not having any discharge and my panties dont have anything on them and it's been 3 hours... so idk if it can leak off and on or if it was just discharge.. ugh... this is so worrisome

@kendrab it can leak off and on and you can leak only a little so if you think everything is ok don't go in I am just trying to say to me it is best to just go in but not trying to freak you out

@stevens.mary18 I know I freak myself out enough.. I'm going to attempt to get rest tonight because I am as tired as can be. And even if the panty liner is not wet tomorrow and I cant rid this anxiety I'm just going to go for the peace of mind.. fluid leakage is harder to detect as an issue but if it is water leaking and not discharge that's something too serious.. I pray I'm just being worried over discharge.. I feel like it is at this point but I've heard and read it can leak on and off.. praying I wake up to dry tomorrow!
